Zayre Toy Circular from 1975

It's hard to find vintage newspaper toy circulars, most people threw them out five minutes after reading. That's a shame because they are such a neat and attractive way to see pop culture history.
That's why this toy circular from the Zayre stores is one of my favourites, first I was five years old when it came out so I wanted almost all of these toys.

In this little time capsule, we see Star Trek mania sweeping the nation, Sesame Street dominating the pre school section, classic board games like Haunted Mansion and Mego licensing a 40 year old movie.

Check out the 1975 Zayre Toy Flyer here or click one of the images below

The prices man, the prices! Were can I get the Enterprise for 12 bucks!

My friend had those communicators, we knew they were just walkie talkies, but man those were just magical back then.

I had the Enterprise bridge along with Kirk, Spock and McCoy (it helped that my dad was a Star Trek fan who knew which ones to get)

Loved that transporter effect.

Them communicator walkie-talkies were super-cool weren't they?

I love your website! I thought I was the only person obsessed with catalogs! I have loved catalogs since I was a child and still hoard them. And I loved Zayre when I was kid too.

That Kenner tree house was one of the greatest toys ever!

I remember that very flyer showing up in the Sunday paper. I got the Mego Enterprise that year and promoted Spock to Captain. That was the same year my Uncle John got drunk and showed his homemade pornos after the kids were supposedly asleep. I learned a lot that Christmas!
